Bio
I obtained my Bachelor’s (Honours) degree in Physics from Yachay Tech University in Ecuador. During my studies, I worked with the CompNano research group at Yachay Tech, led by Professor Henry Pinto, where I gained expertise in Density Functional Theory (DFT), and successfully completed my thesis research on graphene-based superlattices structures. Additionally, before my graduation, I had the opportunity to do three diferent internships over the course of a year at prestigious institutions: the University of Vienna, the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST), and Aalto University.
Research Interests
My research interests lie in ab initio calculations, including the simulation of 2D materials, catalyst design, and the integration of machine learning methods in this field.
