Bio
Giyeok Lee (Ethan) is currently a Visiting Research Student at the School of Physics, The University of Sydney, NSW, Australia, under the supervision of Catherine Stampfl. He is concurrently pursuing his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering at Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea, under the guidance of Prof. Aloysius Soon. Giyeok's academic journey began with a Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea. He has been recognized for his academic excellence, receiving the Human Resource Development Program for Industrial Innovation award from the Center for Research and Education of Metallurgy (CRÈME) for the years 2020-2023. Giyeok's research endeavors focus on employing advanced computational methods, including density-functional theory (DFT) and machine learning algorithms, to understand and predict the functional and structural properties of novel materials.
